Abstract

About 40% of region in Indonesia still uses rainwater as the source for irrigation. The type of the rainfed rice field always depends on the weather which is currently hard to predict. In addition, the cultivation frequency for the field became limited. The irrigation water could come from a dam or a water spring in the mountains. This limited resource of water resulted in a necessity to manage the water distribution in all the rice field area. For every 1 hectare of field, it needs at least 0.5 liter of water per second. This disproportion between the field and the available water discharge could cause conflict within the farmer community who manages the field. The purpose of this study is to help the Water User Farmer Association (“Perkumpulan Petani Pemakai Air or “P3A” for short) in managing the scheduling and control the sluice for irrigation using a mobile application. The waterfall process model was used for developing the application. Based on the application of the system that was used, every feature that were made was tested directly using the Unit Testing. The test was done by observing the system input and output. System Usability Scale (SUS). The tests were also carried out using post-study with the System Usablitiy Scale (SUS) method.
