Authors must strictly follow the guide for authors (word) or (latex). Please read these instructions carefully and follow them strictly. In this way, you will help ensure that the review and publication of your paper is as efficient and quick as possible. The editors reserve the right to turn down any manuscripts that don't follow these rules.

Our editors uphold transparency in research; assess articles for their scientific merit; ensure that content is devoid of any signs of discrimination; and examine information objectively and independently of any conflicts of interest. A paper that is submitted must be unique work that has never been presented or published before. When a work is submitted for publication in this journal, it is assumed that it is not already in press elsewhere or being evaluated by another journal. To maintain the highest publication standards, every manuscript goes through a comprehensive assessment procedure while adhering to all ethical rules.

Policy on Multiple Submission (Simultaneous Submissions) and Prior Publication

Dear Authors,

The Institute of Advanced Engineering and Science (IAES) and Intelektual Pustaka Media Utama (IPMU) are committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and publishing ethics. To ensure transparency, fairness, and responsible dissemination of research, we require all authors to adhere to the following policy regarding multiple submissions and prior publication:

Originality and Prior Publication

  • Manuscripts submitted to IAES and IPMU journals must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
  • Work that has been previously published in any form—including journal articles, conference proceedings, preprints with a DOI, book chapters, or institutional repositories—must be clearly disclosed at the time of submission.
  • Authors must ensure that their manuscript does not substantially overlap with previously published or submitted work unless explicitly justified and approved by the editorial office.

Simultaneous Submissions

  • Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal or conference simultaneously is strictly prohibited.
  • Simultaneous submissions can lead to copyright conflicts, duplication of editorial and peer review efforts, and confusion in citation and indexing systems.
  • IAES and IPMU reserve the right to reject manuscripts found to be under concurrent review elsewhere, even if discovered post-submission.

Redundant and Duplicate Publication

  • Redundant publication (publishing substantially similar content in multiple venues) undermines the integrity of scholarly communication.
  • Authors must avoid submitting incremental or overlapping versions of the same research without clear differentiation and editorial approval.
  • If a manuscript builds upon prior work (e.g., extended conference papers), authors must:
    • Clearly cite the original source.
    • Provide a detailed explanation of the novel contributions.
    • Submit the prior version as supplementary material for editorial review.

Consequences of Violations

Authors who violate this policy may be subject to the following actions:

  1. Formal Warning: Notification of unethical scholarly conduct.
  2. Written Apology: A formal apology addressed to the editorial board.
  3. Publication Ban: Suspension from submitting to IAES and IPMU journals for a period of up to one year.
  4. Retraction: If the manuscript has already been published, it may be retracted with public notice.

Repeat or severe violations may result in notification to the authors' institutions or funding bodies, in accordance with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.

Author Responsibility

Authors are responsible for:

  • Ensuring the integrity and originality of their submissions.
  • Disclosing any prior dissemination of the work.
  • Communicating transparently with editors regarding related submissions or publications.

Your cooperation is essential in maintaining the quality and credibility of our publications. We appreciate your commitment to ethical research and scholarly excellence.

Best regards,
IAES Editorial Office

Authors need to know

1. A journal differs from a conference. A journal follows a regular publication schedule and publishes a set number of papers in each issue and each year. In a journal, the number of published papers must be reasonable and understandable for each issue and year, as announced on the website.

2. During the review process, each author competes with the others. Authors should utilize the time allocated by the editor to revise and update their work when necessary, considering feedback from reviewers and editors, with the goal of winning the competition. Authors should be aware that the publication quota of a journal is limited. The journal will only publish the best papers, rejecting all others due to the limitation.

3. Once a manuscript receives acceptance, it still requires additional processing, such as preparing the final camera-ready paper and proofreading, among other things. Authors should be aware and cooperative with all processes. Even after the processing has been completed, authors should exercise patience in waiting for the publication scheduling due to point number 1.

4.Scopus has three metrics (SJR, CiteScore, and SNIP). ScimagoJR announces the SJR and quartile every year around May, while Scopus directly announces the other metrics, CiteScore and SNIP. Scopus also will classify quartiles based on CiteScore. So, metrics and quartiles of a journal can fluctuate every year.

5. A journal indexed by Scopus can be flagged by CSAB Scopus for reevaluation at any time due to radar (mainly self-citations and bursts of published papers), metrics, etc. When Scopus flags a journal, the process of adding published papers to it remains pending. The re-evaluation decision can either pass or fail, and time for re-evaluation varies, either consuming fast or long times (some weeks, some months, or even more than 1 year). If the re-evaluation result is passed, published papers will continue to be added to the Scopus database, but if it fails, the journal will be discontinued for inclusion, and there will be no added new published papers to the Scopus database.

6. Authors should be aware of the above matters; therefore, the cooperation of authors and editors is needed to maintain, establish, and accelerate the journal's performance.

Should you cite yourself or not? avoid citing your published papers in this publisher whenever possible in the future

Self-citation in academic publishing is a complex issue that can have a significant impact on how people perceive scholarly work. Institutional frameworks may unintentionally encourage authors to cite themselves, reducing the value of their work. This raises concerns about academic integrity and the possibility of technical plagiarism. Researchers should consider why authors self-cite and promote honesty in scholarly communication in order to reduce self-citation and increase credibility. Authors should exercise caution when citing their own work, particularly if they write for the same publisher. This can raise concerns about academic integrity and result in biased research dissemination. Avoiding self-citation not only improves the credibility of their work, but it also encourages a more comprehensive engagement with a larger body of scholarship. Understanding proper citation techniques strengthens an author's adherence to ethical scholarly practices. Navigating the nuances of academic citation practices is critical for scholars seeking integrity and clarity in their work. Over-reliance on one's own publications may unintentionally indicate a lack of interaction with the broader scholarly community. Scholars from various backgrounds may face unique challenges in understanding academic integrity conventions, particularly those involving self-referential citations. To maintain objectivity and credibility, authors should use a strategic approach when referencing their own work. Overreliance on previous papers can give the impression of self-validation and reduce the impact of research within the larger academic discourse. As a result, authors should avoid citing their published papers from this publisher whenever possible in the future.

Is a journal indexed in Scopus? A reminder to check before you publish

See at: https://blog.scopus.com/topics/content or https://blog.scopus.com/posts/is-a-title-indexed-in-scopus-a-reminder-to-check-before-you-publish

Here's how to verify if a title is indexed in Scopus:

  • Check our title lists. You don't need access to Scopus to find out what is and what is NOT covered, the information is publicly available from our info page. There are 3 lists to check against:
    • Scopus Source List: The complete list of indexed journal titles
    • Book Title List: The complete list of indexed book titles
    • Scopus Discontinued Sources List: The list of journal titles for which indexing has been discontinued (and as of which volume and issue)
  • Find it in Scopus. You can also go to Scopus.com itself to check. Open the Sources page and search for a title, publisher or ISSN.
  • Ask! When in doubt, contact the Scopus Helpdesk and one of our Customer Service representatives can let you know if a title is indexed (or is going to be indexed).

Titles on Scopus

Content types included on Scopus are either serial publications that have an ISSN (International Standard Serial Number), such as journals, book series and conference series, or non-serial publications that have an ISBN (International Standard Book Number), such as monographs or one-off conference materials. To check if a title is on Scopus, visit the freely available Source Title page(opens in new tab/window)or consult the title lists below.
